What is jQuery ?

  • jQuery is a lightweight JavaScript library "write less, do extra".
  • jQuery simplifies the JavaScript programming.
  • jQuery is easy to learn & also the reason we use jQuery is mainly to use JavaScript in a simple way in our website by the jQuery libraries.
  • An open source JavaScript library simplifies the contact between HTML and JavaScript.
  • So this was introduced by John Resig in the year of 2005, released in January of 2006.
  • This jQuery was mainly built in an effort to simplify the present DOM APIs (Document Object Model) and cross-browser problems.
