In a cluster or single host resource pools are partition of computing and memory resources.
Resource pool are hierarchical and nested. Further divide and assign to different groups or different purpose from any resource pool can be partition into smaller resources.
Allocated to virtual machine in a VMware virtual infrastructure the resource pool aggregated to physical computer hardware — CPU and memory as well as other component.
Physical resource for virtual system are manage and optimizes used by VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler(DRS) cluster.
One resource pool changes will occur not affect other, unrelated resource pools created by VMware administrators.
Resource pool or virtual machine are not being used reserved resource. They can be shared.
