A network node forms a passage between the internet and router with different transmission protocols.

In higher-level companies, the computer systems that deal with the traffic between enterprise networks are named gateway nodes.

It manages all data that inflows or outflows from that network, and it is located at the boundary of a network.

In two different networks, the gateway operates as a protocol converter, providing compatibility between the different protocols used.

There are two categories of gateways in Network, they are Unidirectional gateways and Bidirectional gateways.

Unidirectional gateways can be used as archiving tools and allow data to flow in only one direction. Changes in the source node are replicated in the destination node, but not vice versa.

A bidirectional gateway is used as a synchronization tool and allows data to flow in both directions.
