The update brings various changes, and stability upgrades, but one of the most essential features that macOS Sierra 10.12.4 brings to Macs, is the Night Shift feature. Already accessible only in iOS devices, and on Macs using third party clients such as f.lux, Night Shift\u00a0in macOS Sierra 10.12.4 finally provides the feature to Apple\u2019s desktop operating system. We\u2019ve tried out the Developer Beta\u00a0for macOS Sierra 10.12.4 on a MacBook Air, and here\u2019s how to use the Night Shift feature on your Mac.<\/p>\n[ad type=&#8221;banner&#8221;]\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>we must never install beta software on\u00a0your daily driver\u00a0MacBook.\u00a0Additionally, we should take a Time Machine backup of your system before updating it to a beta software, and should take Time Machine backups frequently, while we running the beta software, just in case of an unexpected error.\u00a0Beta software may crash resulting in a loss of data. Please\u00a0update your Mac to a beta version of macOS, if and only if, you know the risks involved.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"update-your-mac-to-macos-sierra-10-12-4\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Update Your Mac to macOS Sierra 10.12.4<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Since the latest version of macOS Sierra is only available as a developer beta, as of nowadays, you will need to have a\u00a0developer account registered with Apple. If you have a developer account, you can follow the steps below to get macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Developer Beta up and running on your Mac.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<label class=\"label label-success\">STEP 1:<\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/download\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apple Beta website<\/a>, and\u00a0<strong>sign in with your developer account<\/strong>.\u00a0Under the downloads section, you will be able to see \u201c<strong>macOS 10.12.4 beta<\/strong>\u201c. There are a number of different options that you can use.\u00a0If you only want to\u00a0<strong>enable Night Shift for one day<\/strong>, simply check the checkbox that reads \u201c<strong>Turn On Until Tomorrow<\/strong>\u201c. So, if we can use multiple displays with your Mac, they will not be affected by Night Shift. Only the primary display of your Mac will be affected when Night Shift is turned on.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"get-night-shift-for-mac-running-older-version-of-macos\"><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>Get Night Shift for Mac\u00a0running older version of macOS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>If you\u00a0have an\u00a0older Mac, that doesn\u2019t support the latest version of macOS, or if you don\u2019t have a developer account, to be able to download the developer beta, you can still use third party apps to get\u00a0a\u00a0Night Shift feature on your Mac.\u00a0I would advise that you use f.lux to get Night Shift on your Mac running an older version of macOS. To get started with f.lux, just follow the steps below:<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<label class=\"label label-success\">STEP 1:<\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/justgetflux.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download<\/a>\u00a0f.lux.
