How to Fix the Most Annoying iOS 10 Problems<\/strong> – iOS is an extremely rock-solid and polished operating system, there\u2019s no denying that it has its own reasonable share of issues. The latest version, iOS 10 possibly hasn\u2019t been as well acclaimed as past iOS versions by industry experts and users alike. Apple allows a lot of irritating features by default but you can simply fix these irritations with a simple dive into Settings.<\/p>\n[ad type=”banner”]\n

1. Remove Notification Badge App Icon<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

iOS shows a red notification badge icon on a home screen app for unread notifications by default.\u00a0You can quickly look at the home screen and the badge will display if you\u2019ve any unread notifications. Some people may find it irritating if they don\u2019t use a certain app and it still shows a lot of notifications or they may need prefer a\u00a0cleaner look. If you find yourself between the later one, there\u2019s a quick fix in the Settings.<\/p>\n

  • Go to\u00a0Settings>Notifications and select the app you want to remove the badge for.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      2. Disable the Annoying WiFi Dialog Pop-up<\/span><\/h4>\n

      If you\u2019ve\u00a0left your WiFi turned on and aren\u2019t connected to a network, a dialog box will constantly pop-up showing you all the available WiFi hotspots available nearby. If you don\u2019t like to be continually bugged by iOS, a fix is just a flip away.<\/p>\n

          3. Delete System Apps<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

          iOS 10 adds the ability to\u00a0delete inbuilt system apps. You can delete many of the default apps like calculator, iBooks, Mail, Maps, etc. that Apple ships on the iPhone. You can delete most of the system apps in the same way as you delete third-party apps\u00a0just long tap on an icon to put it in the wiggle mode and tap the cross icon. You still cannot delete some native\u00a0apps like Apple Health and Wallet until now.<\/p>\n

          Remember that Deleting system apps is a bit of a contradiction, actually. It actually hides the app from the home screen and can be\u00a0\u00a0unhidden through the App Store anytime you like. This also means that deleting them will\u00a0not\u00a0free up space on your iPhone\/iPad. However, they will-clutter your home screen.<\/p>\n

          4. Turn Off Spotlight Search History<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

          Spotlight makes searching across different apps, as well as the web. It\u2019s just a swipe down on the home screen away. It additionally stores all your recent searches and shows them whenever you open Spotlight. If this raises a privacy concern for you, there\u2019s a simple fix to disable Spotlight search history.<\/p>\n

          • Go to\u00a0Settings>General>Spotlight Search.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Unfortunately, this search history is tied to Siri (app) suggestions, so it\u2019ll be disabled as well.<\/p>\n

              5. Disable Access to Control Center from Apps<\/span><\/h4>\n

              If you feel like the \u201cswipe up from the bottom\u201d gesture to access Control Center interferes with your scrolling pattern inside any app, you can easily disable access to Control Center from apps.<\/p>\n

                  This will disable the swipe up gesture to access Control Center\u00a0when you\u2019re inside an app. But, you can still access the Control Center\u00a0from the home screen.<\/p>\n

                  6. See New Mails at Top in Threaded View<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

                  By default, iOS 10\u2019s Mail app organizes your emails by threads and displays the\u00a0oldest mail at the top in the threaded view. This leads to unnecessary scrolling to the bottom to reply to the newest mail. There\u2019s a quick fix to revert this change.<\/p>\n

                  • Go to\u00a0Settings>Mail\u00a0and enable the \u201cMost Recent Message on Top\u201d switch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    New emails should be displayed at the top from now onwards. If you\u2019ve some other issues with the default Mail app, then you should consider using\u00a0alternate email clients for the iPhone.<\/p>\n

                    7. Disable the Ability to Reply from Lock Screen<\/span><\/h4>\n

                    iOS 10 allows to reply to messages from the Lock screen, even if you\u2019ve a passcode\/Touch ID set. While this may be a convenient feature for some, it could raise privacy concerns for others. For example, this gives anyone with physical access to your device the ability to reply to any messages.<\/p>\n

                    • To turn it off, go to\u00a0Settings>Touch ID & Passcode\u00a0and disable \u201cReply with Message\u201c.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Replying to a message from the lock screen will now require you to enter your passcode\/TouchID.<\/p>\n

                      8. Disable Access to Notifications When Locked<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

                      Notifications are shown on the lock screen, even when a Passcode\/Touch ID is set. If you\u2019d like to revert this behavior:<\/p>\n

                      • Go to\u00a0Settings>Touch ID and Passcode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        • Disable the \u201cNotifications View\u201d switch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          This section also allows to disable access to certain other features like widgets, Siri and Wallet from the Lock screen.<\/p>\n

                          9. Disable Press Home to Unlock<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

                          iOS 10 with the iconic \u201cSlide to Unlock\u201d feature and introduced a new \u201cPress Home to Unlock\u201d feature. This makes unlocking a little more inconvenient, as you have to press the Home button twice once to wake up the device and then the other to unlock. If you lock your device with Touch ID, you can just rest your finger on the Home button to unlock your iPhone.<\/p>\n
