There are various apps that contain our personal info and therefore, we don\u2019t need anyone else to come across our personal information. While\u00a0there are various approaches to\u00a0hide apps on\u00a0Android,\u00a0not everybody knows about the way that you can hide apps on iPhone as well.\u00a0You may know about the iOS 9.2 bug that allowed users to create nested folders to hide apps but that glitch has been fixed and that method does not work anymore.<\/p>\n

1.Hide Apps through\u00a0Restrictions<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

iOS includes a cool \u201cRestrictions\u201d feature, which is mostly aimed at users looking for parental control. However, you can also use this feature to hide apps. To enable it, you can go to\u00a0iOS Settings->General->Restrictions<\/strong>. Here, tap on \u201cEnable Restrictions<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n

Then, you will be required to\u00a0\u201cEnter a Restriction Passcode<\/strong>\u201c. Once you have entered the passcode twice, the Restrictions feature will be enabled.\u00a0Then, you can just\u00a0disable the toggles for\u00a0stock iOS apps<\/strong>\u00a0like Safari, Camera, Siri, Facetime, App Store, Podcasts etc. to hide them.<\/p>\n

To\u00a0hide third party apps<\/strong>,\u00a0scroll down and in the\u00a0\u201cAllowed Content\u201d section<\/strong>, go to \u201cApps<\/strong>\u201c. Here, you can\u00a0hide\u00a0all the third party apps<\/strong>\u00a0or you can\u00a0hide\u00a0apps based on their age ratings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no way to hide specific apps but you can use the \u201c12+\u201d option to hide dating apps or use the \u201c9+\u201d option to hide social apps like Instagram. You can check out the age ratings of different apps in the App Store.<\/p>\n

The disabled apps are hidden\u00a0from the home screen as well as search. Additionally, they remain hidden even after you\u2019ve restarted your iPhone or iPad\u00a0and you can only\u00a0get your hidden apps back by disabling the Restrictions feature through\u00a0your passcode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, you cannot\u00a0hide all the stock apps\u00a0but you can ensure no one is able to change the settings of your apps or device. For example, you can use the Restrictions feature to make sure nobody is able to fiddle with your location services, contacts, calendars, photos or use your Twitter or Facebook account info.<\/p>\n[ad type=”banner”]\n

2.Hide Stock Apps on iOS 10<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Really, when you remove stocks apps in iOS 10, it only hides the app and does not remove it from the system, as that would hamper the performance of other connected services. For example, when the Contacts app is removed, you can still find your contacts through its tab in the Phone app.<\/p>\n

Along these lines, this is easily a great approach to hide apps on iPhone or iPad. All you need to do, is\u00a0press hold on a stock app<\/strong>\u00a0and when the apps begin shivering, tap the\u00a0cross icon<\/strong>\u00a0on the app\u00a0you need to hide. Once hidden, you can get the app by\u00a0simply heading to the\u00a0App Store, searching for the app<\/strong>\u00a0and tapping the\u00a0cloud\u00a0icon<\/strong>, which recommends that the app is already downloaded in\u00a0your device. The moment you tap the cloud icon, the app will be instantly installed back on your iPhone.<\/p>\n

Bonus: Use Guided Access<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

iOS\u00a0also includes a Guided Access feature, which gives you\u00a0disable UI elements and restricts a user to a single app or screen<\/strong>.\u00a0This can come in accessible if you\u00a0want to hand over your phone to somebody but you only want them to use certain functionality. To enable\u00a0it, go to\u00a0iOS Settings->General->Accessibility<\/strong>\u00a0and here,\u00a0scroll down to the end and\u00a0enable \u201cGuided Access\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once done, open the app you need to use Guided Access on and\u00a0press the home button thrice<\/strong>. Then, Guided Access will start up, here\u00a0tap on \u201cStart<\/strong>\u201d to get going. Then,\u00a0enter a passcode<\/strong>\u00a0you want twice\u00a0or just use TouchID<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once done, you will have to\u00a0circle areas you\u2019d like to disable<\/strong>. The circled areas will have a grey overlay on them and they will not work when you tap it. You can additionally press the \u201cOptions<\/strong>\u201d button on the bottom left to\u00a0disable\u00a0sleep\/wake button, volume buttons, keyboard, touch etc.<\/p>\n

Along with certain UI elements disabled,\u00a0Guided Access also ensures you cannot leave the app. You can\u00a0end Guided Access by\u00a0tapping the home button thrice and entering your passcode or TouchID<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
