We have decided to free you of the woes of connecting devices using unmanageable cables because, wires only get in the way, restrict movement, cause obstructions and are generally very untidy to look at.<\/p>\n[ad type=&#8221;banner&#8221;]\n<h4 id=\"ways-to-use-adb-wirelessly\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Ways to use ADB wirelessly<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>There are two different ways to enable wireless ADB on your device.\u00a0One for rooted devices and another for non-rooted devices.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Note<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Both your computer and your Android device must be connected to the same WiFi network for these methods to work.<\/p>\n<p>You can make it work on different networks as well but you\u2019ll have to use port forwarding, which isn\u2019t a very simple to use.\u00a0Now, we\u2019ll start off with the process for non-rooted devices, as it applies to most Android devices.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"wireless-adb-on-non-rooted-devices\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Wireless ADB on non-rooted Devices<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong><u>Note<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0This requires a onetime use of a USB cable.<\/p>\n<p>If you aren\u2019t on a rooted device follow the steps below to enable wireless ADB on your device.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Connect your device to your computer\u00a0<\/strong>via the USB cable.\u00a0<strong>Allow USB debugging<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20019\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/1-302.png\" alt=\"How to Use ADB Wirelessly on Your Android Device\" width=\"350\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/1-302.png 350w, https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/1-302-300x259.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n[ad type=&#8221;banner&#8221;]\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fire up the Terminal<\/strong>(Command Prompt on Windows) and check that your device is connected to ADB using the following command:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>adb devices<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This should list your device serial number on the Terminal\/Command Prompt, along with the words \u201cdevice\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20021\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/2-244.png\" alt=\"How to Use ADB Wirelessly on Your Android Device\" width=\"565\" height=\"57\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/2-244.png 565w, https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/2-244-300x30.png 300w, https:\/\/www.wikitechy.com\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/2-244-559x57.png 559w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next,\u00a0<strong>type the following command<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>adb tcpip 5555<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201c5555\u201d is what is known as a\u00a0<strong>port number<\/strong>. If you don\u2019t know what a port number is, you don\u2019t need to concern yourself with it. Just go with 5555. Technically, you can use any port number you like, but ensure you don\u2019t use a port number that is being used by another service as this may cause problems. That\u2019s it. You\u2019re done.
