The current updates have brought features like video calls,\u00a0two-step verification\u00a0and it recently introduced its brand new \u201cStatus\u201d feature, which is essentially identical to\u00a0Instagram Stories, which in turn was a rip off of Snapchat Stories. Different the previous text based Status updates, the new Status feature in WhatsApp requires\u00a0you to post photographs, videos and GIFs, which disappear after 24 hours.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"get-old-whatsapp-status-on-non-rooted-devices\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Get Old WhatsApp Status on Non-Rooted Devices<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>On non-rooted devices, you can simply install an older APK of WhatsApp to get the old Status back. Additionally, it\u2019s important to note that this method on WhatsApp v2.17.77 and it worked out perfectly. You can check out your WhatsApp version in WhatsApp <strong>Settings-&gt;About and help-&gt;About<\/strong>. If you are using the ES File Explorer (<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&amp;hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free<\/a><\/strong><\/span>) but you can\u00a0use the file manager\u00a0of your choice. You can choose \u201c<strong>ES Note Editor<\/strong>\u201d or the text editor that comes with the file manager you are using. When you find it, you just have to\u00a0<strong>change\u00a0the \u201c1\u201d to \u201c0\u201d<\/strong>. Do make sure to not edit anything else.
