With respect to speed, iPhones are among the best. Recently bought one of the highest specification Android phones, and it still lag behind my almost-three-year-old iPhone 5S. The 5S old and smaller capacity battery also lasts longer between charges. I\u2019m not saying that all Android phones are bad because I know several brands that put time and effort to produce good-quality high-performance phones, and are not simply copying and pasting their competitors. All I\u2019m saying that, the addition of hardware and software puts Apple\u2019s iPhones above most of the cheap knock-off smartphones.\u00a0Yet even so, there are a little things that we can do to speed up iPhones, and create the battery last longer.Here are the tips to Speed Up iPhone and Prolong the Battery Life<\/strong><\/p>\n[ad type=”banner”]\n

General \u2013 Upgrade to the Latest iOS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

As the general rule of thumb, it’s a smart thought that you generally upgrade your phone iOS to the most recent version. The updates accompanied with bugs fixes and improvements over the past versions, so your iPhone\u2019s performance would be better with each upgrade. There are exceptions, of course, for instance when your hardware is too old for the iOS version, or when there are obscure bugs that cause unexpected behavior, yet that doesn’t occur regularly.<\/p>\n

      Apple needs to bring us closer to the future by introducing Siri Suggestions to iOS. It\u2019s a more advanced Spotlight feature with the additional frequently accessed applications, contacts, and other data on the search screen. The feature is valuable, but not everybody wants a fully intelligent, personalized screen. If you belong to this category, you can trade the feature with extra processing power.<\/p>\n

      To disable Siri Suggestions, go to\u00a0Settings \u2013 General<\/strong>, scroll down a little and choose\u00a0Spotlight Search<\/strong>. Similar to Background App Refresh, you can turn the feature off for all apps, or opt to disable it for individual apps.<\/p>\n

      Extend Battery Life on iPhone<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

      All of the above tricks can speed up your iPhone and furthermore include couple of additional minutes battery power between charges. In any case, if you need to squeeze more juice out of your battery, here are more tips and tricks to attempt.<\/p>\n

      1. Use Low Power Mode<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

      Below the Low Power Mode setting under the Battery, you can perceive the list of the most power consuming applications and the reason they hog the power. You can analyze the difficulties and attempt to fix them to get better battery performance in the future.<\/p>\n

      For instance, if application X\u00a0consumes more power because of background activities, attempt to close the application when you are not utilizing it. Or if another app hogged the battery because of doing background location, disable the app\u2019s access to Location Service. But many other apps using this Location Services for various purposes like health apps to track your movement, note taking and photo apps to add location tags to your notes and pictures, and also various social media apps to give \u201cbetter user experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

      Because this service relies on GPS satellite data to track your location, it requires more battery power to constantly maintaining the data connection. If you do need the feature for several applications, you can conserve battery by turning off the service for several apps that don\u2019t require location tagging. Or if you can live without the feature, turn it off completely.<\/p>\n

      You can enable\/disable the feature by going to\u00a0Settings \u2013 Privacy<\/strong>, then choose\u00a0Location Services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      It\u2019s obvious that another factor that can influence the battery performance is screen brightness. The brighter your screen is, the shorter battery charge you have. Even though having your phone auto-adjust the screen brightness automatically according to the environment is convenient, you will have more control over your battery life if you turn the feature off and control the brightness automatically.<\/p>\n

      The on\/off screen brightness control is located in\u00a0Settings \u2013 Display & Brightness<\/strong>. After you turn it off, you can quickly adjust the brightness via the\u00a0Control Center<\/strong>\u00a0by swiping up from the bottom of your screen.<\/p>\n

      Another obvious tip:<\/strong>\u00a0set the brightness to low if you are indoor, your iPhone\u2019s battery and your eyes will thank you.<\/p>\n
