Now,\u00a0you ought to\u00a0<\/span>be\u00a0ready to\u00a0<\/span>launch games in Stadia on any Android phone! We tested this on the OnePlus 7 Pro as\u00a0you’ll\u00a0<\/span>see\u00a0within the\u00a0<\/span>featured image shown above. The Stadia app only checks two system properties\u00a0to work out\u00a0<\/span>if your device is eligible to stream games. We\u2019re spoofing just these two properties\u00a0therefore the\u00a0<\/span>Stadia app will think it\u2019s running on Google\u2019s Pixel 4<\/strong>. It\u2019s\u00a0a really\u00a0<\/span>simple tweak, but I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if it breaks with a future update to the Stadia app. We\u2019ll update\u00a0this text\u00a0<\/span>if the tutorial\u00a0must\u00a0<\/span>be adjusted, but we hope that Stadia rolls\u00a0bent\u00a0<\/span>other Android devices soon\u00a0in order that\u00a0<\/span>won\u2019t be necessary.<\/p>\n

The option for force enabling dark themes across unsupported apps has been present since Android Q, so this isn\u2019t exactly\u00a0fresh\u00a0<\/span>information. But with more and more apps officially adopting a dark theme,\u00a0this feature\u00a0<\/span>has been relegated out of the limelight\u00a0because it\u00a0<\/span>could cause issues with how an unsupported app displays visual elements. Now, Android 10\u00a0is far\u00a0<\/span>more widely available across flagships and mid-rangers alike,\u00a0then\u00a0<\/span>many other devices have also received Android 10 custom ROMs<\/strong>. So it’s wort revisiting this setting in light of WhatsApp\u2019s lethargy towards dark mode.<\/p>\n

\nTo enable dark mode on WhatsApp and other unsupported apps, all\u00a0you’ve got\u00a0<\/span>to try to to\u00a0<\/span>is enable Developer Options on your Android 10 device,\u00a0then\u00a0<\/span>scroll\u00a0right down to\u00a0<\/span>the \u201cOverride force-dark\u201d setting and enable it. Doing so on my OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 6 themes WhatsApp to a darker color palette.<\/p>\n

You can also enable\u00a0an equivalent\u00a0<\/span>on older Android versions on certain OEM skins which have\u00a0an identical\u00a0<\/span>option baked in to force-enable dark themes.\u00a0as an example\u00a0<\/span>, the recent Color OS 6<\/strong> update\u00a0supported\u00a0<\/span>Android 9 Pie for the Realme 3<\/strong> and Realme 3i<\/strong> contain a switch for system-wide dark mode\u00a0also\u00a0<\/span>as for enabling it on apps like WhatsApp.<\/p>\n

On versions of Android older than Pie,\u00a0you’ll\u00a0<\/span>also trigger dark mode through ADB or other dedicated apps. Do note that this method won\u2019t work with all devices since some manufacturers completely disable the night mode option on their phones<\/p>\n
