[Solved-1 Solution] Unable to Install Kies error
Error Description:
We are installing Samsung Kies on our PC, and the installation is stuck at "installing hotfix" screen. The error is encountered when:
- Anti-virus or other security software in the computer is blocking Kies;
- Kies setup file is corrupted;
- Users don't have an adminstrater access;
- Computer issues, inlcuding no network connection, missing the minimum system requirement of Kies, outdated operating system.
Solution 1:
To fix the error, we may:
- Temporarily disable firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-malware or other security software that might block Kies. To disable firewall, take Window 8 as an example: go to "Control Panel">"Windows Firewall"> click "Turn Windows Firewall on or off"> select “Turn off Windows Firewall” and click ”OK“. The procedure differs according to different operation systems.

- Delete the downloaded files and re-download a fresh version of Kies.
- If this is a work computer, we may not have the administrator access. This can be verified by whether we can download other software on the computer.
- Check if there is any update for the computer. For Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to "Control Panel"> "Safety and Security">"Windows Update." And also check if the computer meets the minimum system requirement of Kies.
