What is TextReader in C# ?

  • C# TextReader class is found in System.IO namespace.
  • It represents a reader that can be used to read text or sequential series of characters.
  • TextReader reads text characters from a file. It is internally used by many other types in the .NET Framework.
  • But you can access it for a general method of reading text content. It's usually better to use StreamReader in your programs.
